WEATHERFORD —
A Weatherford man killed in a wreck around 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning on Interstate 20 in Hudson Oaks had stopped on the shoulder due to apparent car trouble when his vehicle was struck.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, a westbound 3/4-ton Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 49-year-old Mark Wisdom, of Weatherford, traveled off the main lanes of Interstate 20 for as yet undetermined reason and struck the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer on the shoulder.
The driver of the SUV, 43-year-old Jerry Escalante, of Weatherford, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck due to his injuries.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner had not made a ruling on the cause and manner of Escalante’s death as of Monday evening.
Wisdom was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth by LifeCare EMS with non-life threatening injuries, according to Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Lonny Haschel.
No charges had been filed, though the crash investigation was ongoing, Haschel said.
