HUDSON OAKS —
Reports of a man exposing himself in Hudson Oaks Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a registered sex offender.
Michael Ray Ward, 47, was arrested for indecent exposure Monday by Hudson Oaks police officers, Parker County Jail records show.
“Basically, officers received a call from the Parker County Sheriff’s Office in regards to a male subject driving down the road committing lewd acts,” Hudson Oaks Detective Rick Reese said.
According to Reese, Ward had exposed his genitalia while driving down the road looking at people.
“The complaintants were able to provide an excellent description and give an accurate licence plate number,” Reese said.
After making contact with the suspect, who was located in the Walmart parking lot, officers immediately noticed several items in his vehicle that appeared to have been used in the lewd acts, according to Reese.
“There was a kit that included items sexual in nature, which included a pair of binoculars,” Reese said.
According to Reese, Ward was fully clothed when officers located and approached him. There were, however, obvious signs of materials that had been used during the alleged lewd acts on Ward’s person, Reese said.
Ward was booked into the Parker County Jail on a charge of indecent exposure.
Ward was released Tuesday on a $1,000 bond.
The Texas Department of Public Safety records show that Ward is a registered sex offender and on probation for indecency with a child, described as a 15-year-old female.
Ward is registered as living in the Sansom Park area of Tarrant County and working in the Richland Hills area.
Resse said the investigation is ongoing.

Sheriff, judge at odds over mailer
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler sent out a statement and automatic phone calls across the county Wednesday saying he did not endorse incumbent 43rd District Judge candidate Trey Loftin, following a mailer sent by the judge’s campaign that included a quote from Fowler.
However, Loftin said Thursday Fowler made the referenced statement to a room full of people at a fundraiser for Loftin and agreed to let Loftin’s campaign quote the sheriff. - Film director looking for local actors
