The following offenses were observed or reported to the Weatherford Police Department on Monday Aug. 16.
Theft
Aug. 16, 1200 Grace St., a complainant reported that between Aug. 9 and Aug. 16 unknown suspect(s) had stolen the license plate from a motorcycle that was parked in the driveway.
Identity Theft
Aug. 16, 600 Bryan St., a complainant reported that after receiving a letter from a collection company she discovered that an unknown suspect had used her Social Security number to obtain a cellular telephone account without her permission.
Criminal Mischief
Aug. 13, 1400 Ft. Worth, a complainant reported that between Aug. 7 and Aug. 10 unknown suspect(s) had damaged a locking mailbox by breaking the lock with an unknown object.

Sheriff, judge at odds over mailer
Part of a mailer that was sent out by Judge Trey Loftin included a comment from and photo of Sheriff Larry Fowler. The sheriff denies having endorsed Loftin.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler sent out a statement and automatic phone calls across the county Wednesday saying he did not endorse incumbent 43rd District Judge candidate Trey Loftin, following a mailer sent by the judge’s campaign that included a quote from Fowler.

However, Loftin said Thursday Fowler made the referenced statement to a room full of people at a fundraiser for Loftin and agreed to let Loftin’s campaign quote the sheriff. - Film director looking for local actors

Eagles rebound, advance to regional finals
Brock circled the base paths aggressively and with regularity on Friday and Saturday in their playoff series against the Troy Trojans, scoring 16 runs in 13 innings, as they eliminated their regional semifinal opponents. Pictured is Brock's Keith Steel sliding safely into home on Friday at Roger Williams Ballpark, as the Eagles run-ruled Troy in six innings, winning Game 2, 10-0. Brock sealed the deal on Saturday, beating the Trojans 6-1 to advance to the Class 2A, Region II finals. The Eagles will meet either Sunnyvale or Gunter, who were still playing at press time Saturday.
