Parker County Commissioners will meet Monday at 9 a.m. in regular session; agenda items include an update on transportation bond projects, the process to fill a vacancy on the Emergency Service District # 3 Board of Commissioners, and the Reno Volunteer Fire Department contract for 2009-2010.

Judge Mark Riley will give the status of the bond projects, which as a whole are moving forward more quickly and at less cost than expected, according to Public information Officer Joel Kertok. “We are ahead of schedule and under budget,” Kertok said, “with the whole program, including project design and permit application, moving faster than we thought. In addition, bids are coming in under what’s projected. When demand is down, costs go down.”

Kertok said the money that is being saved will be put in a contingency fund and used for other transportation needs.

Voters approved $80 million in public bonds in Nov. 2008 to finance the construction, expansion, and upgrading of roads, intersections, and bridges.
