Hospital board selects new CEO

WEATHERFORD —

Weatherford Regional Medical Center announced Monday that Cory Countryman has been named the new chief executive officer effective Monday, Dec. 6.

“After  much  thought  and  discussion  with  those  involved in the search process,  the  decision  has  been made to name Cory as the permanent CEO,” said  Dennis  Clayton,  chairman  of  the WRMC Board of Trustees. “Cory has worked  with  Weatherford Regional in the past as assistant chief executive officer  and he is familiar with the operations and the community. Cory has the  leadership  experience for this important role and is the right choice for the WRMC team moving forward.”

Countryman,  who  comes  with  more  than 15 years of healthcare management experience,  most  recently  served as chief executive officer of Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Cleveland, Texas.  He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Dallas Baptist University.

“I  look  forward  to  returning  to  WRMC  and  building on the hospital’s accomplishments,” Countryman said. “This is an outstanding facility with an exceptional medical staff and employee team. I will enjoy working alongside the  employees, medical staff and board of trustees to advance patient care and continue our great success.”
