Weatherford businessman killed in morning wreck

WEATHERFORD — Weatherford businessman and Parker County Sheriff's Posse member Thomas E. Riddle was killed in a head-on collision that happened just before 7 a.m. on Bethel Road in Weatherford.

Another man who has not yet been idenitified was also killed at the scene when his SUV crashed into Riddle's. According to Weatherford Deputy Chief Wayne Slimp, witnesses say the unidentified man's SUV was attempting to pass and before it could get back in its own lane, hit Riddle's truck head-on.

Two victims in the SUV were transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Slimp said.

Right now drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have played a part in the wreck, but toxicology reports will still need to be conducted.

Riddle's truck was traveling northbouth on Bethel Road and the unidentified man's SUV traveling southbound when the accident occured in the 2600 block.

No charges are expected to be filed.
